Last Week Ahead for 2020!

Dear Friends

With the second wave, more than fifteen devotees are infected with the COVID virus. I implore all of you to please be careful. Please stay at home, avoid gatherings, and take all precautions when you have to go out.

The Temple has imposed stricter protocols by limiting pujaris and the deity worship standard will be simplified. That means the resident devotees will continue their marathon of taking on the majority of the deity worship.

Each of us is responsible for curbing the pandemic and I request that you please take this seriously.

Now that we will be spending more time in our homes and the initial thrill of being “productive” at home has died down, how do you plan to spend your time? Books can help you travel the world and beyond. I take this opportunity to invite you on a journey across the universe to the lotus feet of Sri Krishna. Please set yourself a goal to read one or two or three of Srila Prabhupada’s books over the holidays. Try reading with your family, start a conversation with them, after all, Bhagavad Gita is a conversation between Krishna and Arjuna.

Gift family and friends one of Srila Prabhupada’s books. These books are the only true panacea.

This is our last Week Ahead mail for 2020. You will hear from us again in early January. Wishing you a happy and safe holiday!

Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada
Vibhu Caitanya Das

Week Ahead 10-16 December 2020

 Dear Friends

“Why is the Prabhupada Marathon more beneficial than any vow or devotion during Kartik?”
“During Kartik, we offer a lamp and get 1000 times the benefit, during the marathon we give an unlimited number of people the opportunity to offer a lamp during Kartik!” Vibhu Caitanya Das

A Vaishnava Never Dies – A Sankirtan Story
By Vibhu Caitanya Das

I was doing book distribution in the Unit Seven Shopping Centre in Chatsworth. I walked into one of the shops and the guy asked me, “Do you know this one lady, she was an elderly lady? She used to come here and sell books to me.” Based on his description, I showed him a photo of Her Grace Radha Vinoda Mataji. “Yes! That’s the one! You know, she was so kind to me, she was always giving me books and always visiting me and encouraging me. What happened to her?” I replied, “She left her body last year…” He began crying. He then showed me a dried maha-garland in the store that Radha Vinoda had given him. He said people always tell him to remove it but he decided at that moment that he will never remove the garland. Devotees touch people’s lives in ways we cannot imagine.
