As we welcome the new year, the 2016 Prabhupada Book Marathon comes to an end. I have made an exclusive arrangement in a last ditch effort to increase the book distribution.

I pray that you had a blissful and devotional Kartik. As the year comes to a close, this is an opportune time for us to get together and try to distribute Srila Prabhupada's books. The 2016 Prabhupada Book Marathon is from 25 November until 25 December.

 

Srila Prabhupada wrote: “I'm specially pleased to hear that your distribution of our books and magazines has increased. Go on in this way, increasing more and more." (Letter to Damodara, 03/12/1971)

 

You can try to distribute books in your area or join a team or join the temple on the Marathon Weekly Sankirtan Festivals on the following Saturdays: 26 November, 3 December, 10 December, 17 December, and 24 December. All Sankirtan Festivals begin with the morning program. We provide books, transport, teams and book distribution spots. At the end of the weekly festival, all participating devotees will share their experiences and realizations followed by a feast. Since 1973, Urmila Devi Dasi has been a practitioner and teacher of bhakti yoga, the process of loving devotion to link with the Supreme Lord and His devotees. She is an initiated disciple of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. As a member of the renounced order of vanaprastha, she regularly visit temples and holy places worldwide to hold discourses on topics of yoga, mantra meditation, and living in spiritual consciousness within the world. She also publishes articles and books, both for adults and children, on the science of bhakti.

This family event is loaded with fun. We are pleased to announce that His Holiness Bhakti Caitanya Swami will be joining us on Govardhan-puja on Monday. He will be taking us on the long parikrama around Govardhan Hill. You can also look forward to spectacular mini dramas by the Bhakti Theatre, depicting the various pastimes around Govardhan Hill. And on Thursday, we remember our beloved Acharya, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

The temple will be hosting numerous festivals to increase our hearing and chanting (50 Hour Kirtan, Japa Club on Sundays, Be a Sage Book Club, etc.) and devotional offerings (Monthly Sankirtan Festival).
