Theatre this Weekend at Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple

Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple will host the local Bhakti Yoga Society (BYS) Student Retreat this weekend. Bhakti Yoga Society is our university programme. We will be welcoming students from Edgewood, Howard, Mangosuthu, Westville, Durban University of Technology, and the Bartel Arts Trust (BAT Centre). The retreat begins on Friday and the theme is "Dynamic Emotional Evolution".

Saturday, 30 April

Bhakti Theatre at 4pm sharp. 

Bhakti Theatre offers quality family entertainment this Saturday afternoon. The weather forecast is cool and some wind but NO rain. Please bring your blankets and cushions. Dress warm. 

Line up includes:

4:00pm   Kirtan by Nandakishor and special Nrsimha Mantra chants

4:25pm   Drama - Glimpses of the Ramayana

4:35pm   Hip Hop & Poetry by Saunaka Muni & Co.

5:00pm   INTERVAL

5:15pm   Drama - The Lion Lord

BYS Cafe will be offering hot chips, popcorn and other light snacks. Drinks include tea & coffee and iced lemon mint tea.

Funds raised goes towards the theatre and the university program.

His Grace Swarup Damodar Das explains: “The story of Hanuman is detailed in a book of the Ramayana called Sundara-khanda, or the ‘beautiful book.’ Each book of the Ramayana is titled such to describe the events in that book — Aranya-khanda describes the forest pastimes and Yuddha-khanda gives an account of the war in Lanka. Sundara-khanda describes that what is most beautiful, is the manner in which the devotee gives everything in the service of the Lord. Since time immemorial and amongst all devotees, it is acknowledged that a sterling example of the Supreme Lord’s pure servant is Hanuman. Hanumanji is a devotee who lives only for the pleasure of his master, Lord Ramachandra. Thus he is the benchmark and a hero for all aspiring devotees of Lord Krishna.”

On Thursday, 21 April we invite you to the Sri Hanuman Jayanti celebration at 7pm.

Sri Rama Naumi Festival begins this weekend...

Celebrations to honour Lord Ramachandra begin this weekend at the Sri Krishna Goshala. On Rama Naumi (Friday, 15 April), we have planned an all-day festival with cultural entertainment, offerings, abhishek and free meals, with a special evening festival. His Grace Shubha Vilas Das, an expert on the Ramayana and author of the best-seller, Ramayana - Game of Life series, will give a talk in the evening. He will also present a 4-hour seminar (2 hours over two days) based on Book 2, Shattered Dreams. Registration is essential for the seminar.

His Holiness Partha Sarathi Das Goswami has returned to Durban this week and we look forward to his classes and association. His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami will be arriving next week and we also look foward to his classes and association. Their programmes over the Rama Naumi weekend will be annouced in the next Week Ahead.
