"Taste of Devotion" 5000 cupcake distribution in and around Durban

Remember Step 5!

Take photos and send to temple@iskcondurban.net. 

Include names of persons in the photo and the area you are distributing the cupcakes.

 

Saturday, 30 July

Ekadasi - Fast from grains, beans and legumes.

Monthly Sankirtan Festival 

We will be flooding Durban, from the Beachfront to Essenwood Road, with Srila Prabhupada's books. I am eager to do this service with you.

 

We are making first class arrangements with a light Ekadasi breakfast, orientation and training, distribution of book spots, transport, and an Ekadasi lunch feast. Registration is essential. We will also have sponsored books and sweets to hand out. The dress code is comfortable. If you feel confident, you may wear devotional attire. 4:30am    Morning Programme (Join us as any time)

8:30am    Light Ekadasi breakfast

9:15am    Orientation

10:30am  Book Distribution at pre-arranged spots (Devotees will be going out in groups)

"He [Krishna Das Swami] often lamented the degradation of modern day India, always fondly referring to it as “Bharat” which of course is the traditional name for the country...In his heart, Maharaja wanted India to really become the Bharat of its ancient tradition, and knew that Krishna consciousness was the only thing that could help achieve that...he always continued preaching powerfully, and glorifying Srila Prabhupada as the savior of humanity. His contribution to Srila Prabhupada's movement was outstanding, and I'm sure he is at his lotus feet right now."

Join the Taste of Devotion Campaign

 

The Taste of Devotion campaign is our way of making people aware that it is ISKCON's 50th anniversary on Thursday, 28 July. The Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple is making 5000 cupcakes and we invite everyone to help distribute them to friends, family, work collegues, etc. The more people help, the wider the awareness. Follow these easy steps: 

 

Step 1

Place your order! Note: Maximum number is 50. 

There is no cost but donations are welcome.

You will receive a confirmation via E-mail or SMS.

 

Step 3

Collect your cupcakes on Wednesday, 27 July from 4pm onwards, at Govinda's Resturant.

Distribute your cupcakes on Thursday, 28 July. Note: The cupcakes must be distributed on this day, it's our 50th Anniversary!

 

Step 5

Send us a photo!

We welcome back His Holiness Partha Sarathi Das Goswami, who arrived in Durban last night. His Holiness Ram Govinda Swami will be giving all the morning classes at the temple until Thursday, 21 July. 

 

Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of ISKCON on Sunday, 31 July. The Deities will be offered a new outfit, the temple will be decorated, the amphitheatre will have rangoli art, nama-hattas will be showcasing their achievements, we will be showing a 50th Anniversary video, offering an anniversary cake to Their Lordships.

Help Google Doodle for ISKCON 50

Google has a service called GOOGLE DOODLE (http://www.google.com/doodles), which helps people celebrate their important days. We would like Google to create a special doodle on 13 July (the day ISKCON was legally inaugurated 50 years ago). 

 

And you can help. All you have to do, is write a short personal email request to: proposals@google.com. Include in the subject line: "Please create a Doodle for ISKCON's 50th Anniversary Celebration on 13 July 2016."

 

Keep an eye out for our exhibit at the House & Garden show this weekend, 8 - 10 July. We will offer items to create a "sacred space" in your home. Our show special is 10% off everything.

Bhakti Theatre @ 4pm

Bhakti Theatre kicks off with melodious kirtan by our devotee youth: Sankarshan, Gaura Bhumi, Jivani & Krishna Rupa.

We celebrate ISKCON 50 with the drama: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

MC Pralamz will be performing from his brand new album and he will take us on a trip to Mayapur, the birthplace of the chanting of Krishna's holy name. His opening act is a mon and daughter team (Ramy & Soraya), singing bhakti lyrics to popular music. 

Note: We will set up a beautiful theatre in the marquee if the weather forecast is chilly. 

There is a nominal cover charge of R10 per person (under 5s enter free).
BYS Cafe will have light meals, snacks and drinks for sale.
Proceeds goes towards the university cultivation programme and the Theatre.
