Dear Devotees,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

When an old man has something to say or share, no one takes him seriously. But when the same message comes from a young boy, then everyone becomes enlivened. I was  certainly enlivened to see our youth host the Sunday Love Feast yesterday. Thank you for arranging and executing the programme so beautifully. I know that Srila Prabhupada will be proud of all of you. I also commend you on raising enough funds to host His Grace Agnidev Prabhu, the famous kirtaneer, at our temple in July.  

Also, thank our to seasoned devotees for supporting our youth.

Purushottama Maas

17 June - 15 July

Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple will host a programme every evening from 7:00pm. After the Sandhya (Gaura) arati, we will read from Srimad Bhagavatam (sanskrit, word-for-word and Srila Prabhupada’s purport). The benefit of observing the recommended practices during the auspicious Purushottam month is said to equal sixteen Kartik months, and reading of Srimad Bhagavatam is the prime offering for this month. (For more information on this auspicious month of devotion and the recommended devotional practices to accrue optimal spiritual benefit please see our website, www.iskcondurban.net)

You can also give charity to Sri Sri Radha Radhanath in the form of anadaan, pushpadaan or Take Care of Krishna. Note that there are only eight days available to Take Care of Krishna. Extend the special benefit of this month to your family and friends through a devotional programme conducted by the devotees in your home.  We want to offer Srila Prabhupada 108 house programmes as a part of commemorating the 40^th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada’s visit to Durban.  To book a house programme during the Purushottam month call Sri Nathji – 083 9505 111.

Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Yard Sale

20 -21 June

We will be selling loads of maha items, from vases to candle holders to decor pieces. These pieces have been used in the service of Sri Sri Radha Radhanath over many years and are now no longer used. You are sure to come across that item which reminds you of a particular festival and how Sri Sri Radha Radhanath looked on that day.

Bhakti Theatre

Saturday, 20 June, 4pm 

Our brand new line-up includes: Aden Hinds (from the Hinds Brothers, who recently played alongside The Parlotones), MC Pralamz - who will warm you up with great moves and audience participation, the never before staged, contemporary drama “Shopping for the Self", kirtan by our the brothers, Krishna Caitanya Das and Patita Pavana Nitai Das, a short puppet show to entertain our young ones, some graceful dances and a few surprises. Once again you are invited to bring your blankets and cushions. 

There is a nominal cover charge of R10 per person (under 5s are free). Tickets are on sale at the door - only R10. Gate opens at 3:30pm

The show begins at 4:00pm sharp, so come in early, take a walk through the Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Yard Sale, get your ticket, grab a seat, order your meal and get comfortable for a fun evening of spiritual entertainment. 

BYS Cafe will have light meals, snacks and drinks on sale. Expect a new menu. There will also be gopis dots, face painting and mendhi. Proceeds goes towards the university cultivation programme.  Picnic baskets are available on pre orders only. You can prebook seats and picnic baskets: temple@iskcondurban.net not later than Friday, 19 June at midday.

Week Ahead 5 -11 June

Temple Restoration 

Sri Sri Radha Radhanath will give Their darshan in Their temple room tomorrow morning, Saturday 6 June, at 7:00am.

This week the new altar door was fitted and the light bulbs changed to LEDs. The light mouldings and other components have been removed for polishing and painting, to be refitted during the course of next week. The wall paper is in the process of being changed. 

Please note the Book Table will be in the Temple Room as we upgrade the entire book table area. Kindly note that their is restricted access in the temple. 

The temple reception is temporarily moved to the admin block while the reception area is converted into a gift shop. The new reception will be moved to the current book office.

BBT Africa 6th Annual Conference
