15 Goals & 30 Promises

How will you celebrate Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple’s 30th anniversary? Many devotees have their roots at our temple, even if they have moved on. Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple is the first ISKCON temple in KZN, from it the beautiful New Jagannath Puri Temple has sprouted, and other temples are in the pipeline. We warmly invite the ISKCON KZN community, in fact ISKCON SA Yatra to join us in fulfilling the fifteen goals for Sri Sri Radha Radhanath's 30th anniversary. In celebration of Their 30th anniversary, we appeal to our community to make thirty promises to Sri Sri Radha Radhanath - one promise for each year They have blessed us with Their presence, guidance, and grace. You will be able to fill out your personal promise card and a pujari will offer it to the lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha Radhanath. Our discussion will show you how these promises do not have to be daunting but incorporate our daily devotions as part of the 30 promises.

Durban Festival of Chariots

The Durban Festival of Chariots (DFOC) will be over the Easter weekend (Friday, 3 April - Monday, 6 April) at the Old Durban Drive-in from 11am until 10pm daily. The Founder Acharya Seminar with His Grace Suresvara Prabhu

Srila Prabhupada touched South African soil forty years ago. This audio visual, interactive seminar will help you explore and deepen your relationship with His Divine Grace. Gain understanding of who is Srila Prabhupada, how he is relevant to our lives and how he is the pivotal relationship in all our Vaishnava relationships.  

There are two sessions on Saturday, 7 February: Session 1 begins at 9:30am and Session 2 begins at 12:00pm. 

The final instalment is on Sunday, 8 February at 11:00am. 

His Grace Kshudi Prabhu leaves Durban on Friday. We thank him for spending time with us and for his contribution to the South African yatra.

Sunday, 1 February marks the first major festival in the year — Lord Nityananda’s Appearance Anniversary. We are hosting an all-day festival. Please take advantage and spend as much time as you can at the temple. See poster for details.

Bhakti, My Choice - A New Course for Girls 

One of our 2015 goals is to encourage, interact and provide more facility for our youth. This fresh course for girls aged between 12 to 17yrs aims to broaden their spiritual experience. Learn devotional arts (playing instruments, Deity worship, presenting philosophy, book distribution, harinam and more) among friends and boost self confidence. Our aim is to help our youth be comfortable in their devotional identity and give them reasons and experiences to help them choose bhakti.

Life Lessons from the Bhagavatam

Fulfilling another goal: to equip devotees through study of scripture, we invite you to join this class. This open course allows both the beginner and the old-timer entrance into the Bhagavatam by meeting the great personalities in its pages. Series One, Dhruva Lila, focuses on the lessons of hope, faith, and determination. 

Starts Thursday, January 29th from 6pm to 8pm in Srila Prabhupada's Room. Course facilitator is Rukmini Devi Dasi.

Srila Prabhupada touched South African soil forty years ago. To commemorate this great blessing we proudly share the attached logo. Please post on your social media accounts, like and share. We may know Srila Prabhupada’s struggles to build his ISKCON and feel grateful to him. But when we all come together and discuss his activities and qualities, we can derive new respect and appreciation for His Divine Grace. With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that His Grace Suresvara Prabhu will be visiting us from Sunday, 1st February until Sunday, 8th February. 

   

His Grace Swarup Damodar shares his impression of Suresvar Prabhu: "This morning in ISKCON Juhu, Mumbai I attended the Srimad Bhagavatam class given by His Grace Suresvara Prabhu, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada, who is traveling the world presenting the seminar, "Srila Prabhupada, Our Founder Acarya". I was so inspired by his presentation and felt so confident that his upcoming visit to South Africa will be vital to help us all progress in developing our relationship with Srila Prabhupada. I urge all the devotees to set things aside to make time available and attend his seminar, which is well organised and filled with attractive media presentations. Suresvara Prabhu's simple and pure charisma is very moving.”   

 

Details of Suresvara Prabhu’s talks and seminar will be advertised next week. For now, seminar dates are Saturday, 7th February and Sunday, 8th February.
