Week Ahead 25 November – 1 December 2021

 Dear Freinds

For devotees, the Kartik month is the prime opportunity to fill their hearts with the Lord’s mercy. What opens the heart to more mercy is the sharing of good fortune with others. And that’s what the December Book Marathon is all about – expanding the lotus of the heart by sharing mercy to others. We invite you to experience the ecstasy of sharing during December. Sharing transcendental knowledge, especially in the form of Srila Prabhupada’s books is the greatest of welfare works. The book marathon has begun in earnest and we have set a goal of only 10,000 books. We’ve already reached 2000 books within the first week! Every Saturday, the temple will host a sankirtan festival – an inspiring morning class, a light breakfast, and then going out in teams for book distribution. Teams will return at lunchtime to be served a lunch feast.

All service to Krishna was pleasing to Srila Prabhupada, yet it was vividly evident that Srila Prabhupada was especially inclined to book distribution. His book distributors experienced special mercy from him in reciprocation for their efforts. We too can get in on this mercy action – connect with Radha Raman and Priya Kishori (082 806 1646) to find out how you can get involved.

Week Ahead 11-17 November 2021

 Dear Friends

We enter the last five days of Kartik on Sunday 14th November. Now that we have received so much during the month of Kartik, we can follow in Srila Prabhupada’s footsteps, who left Vrindavan to give bhakti. Srila Prabhupada is the Live to Give Acharya. You too can live to give by joining the Prabhupada Book Marathon.

The marathon starts on the last day of Kartik – 19 November. To celebrate Srila Prabhupada’s 125th appearance anniversary, ISKCON Durban’s goal is to distribute 10 000 books during the marathon. You can be a part of Srila Prabhupada’s legacy of giving shelter to the world, through the following ways:

Go Solo
Take a book pack and distribute at your will and time. Or even give them away as gifts. Book packs start with a minimum of 50 books (prices will vary as per book range).
Team Up
A group of friends can register as a team. We will help you find spots and get books. Book packs are a minimum of 125 books (prices will vary as per book range).
Chip In
Do you want to live to give but don’t have time? Sponsor books and we will distribute them for you.
Hero Up
You don’t need to sell a thing! Just place your feet on the pavement. We arrange everything – the place, the books, the company. Just give 125 minutes of your time.
Sign up to Live To Give here or contact Radha Raman 076 587 9558 or Priya Kishori 082 806 1646
There will also be a training workshop for new distributors and seasoned distributors can brush up on their skills.
